Frank Agnew, Production Artist
When we say he's our resident rock star, we're not kidding. Following the success of his punk supergroup, The Adolescents, Frank now finds solace and tranquility in immersing himself in the nuts and bolts of technology you or I would find tedious. Trimming the fat from our CS3 files, cleaning, buffering and polishing them to perfection makes him a rock star daily in the DSYL office. Patient and shy with an old-soul quality, sometimes we think Frank walked out of a nuclear fallout shelter from the 1960s. Luckily for him, his chivalrous demeanor makes it easy to love him; especially after you realize he can hear a song once and play it on various different instruments.
When his fingers aren't attached to a keyboard or guitar, Frank enjoys long walks, reading sci-fi, deciphering product manuals and cheering on the Anaheim Ducks with his children. We often hear, "If the Ducks don't win, be prepared to see a grown man cry."
Cathy Nanadiego, Account Executive
Cathy is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications, emphasis in advertising and a minor in human communications. Since 2004, Cathy has served as an account manager at DSYL helping guide her clients through all of their advertising and graphic needs.
Known around the office as "Tenacious C" or the "Deadline Deputy," Cathy organizes jobs from beginning to end. She is talented at working with clients to turn their ideas into functional designs, while meeting their budgets and time requirements.
Understanding the need for networking, Cathy has immersed herself in Business Networking International (BNI). As president of her chapter, Cathy has received numerous awards and accolades for her service to her the chapter and BNI organization as a whole. Through extensive networking, she has been able to better assist her clients’ needs and increase the level of clientele DSYL serves.
Cathy’s key to success is her positive attitude, along with an occasional glass of red wine. Her goal is to keep her clients happy and successful.
Jason (Fish) Boucher, Web Developer
Fish has been so busy developing the new website, he hasn't had time to write a bio. But don't fret, it'll be here soon.
Narina Singh Gonneville, Copywriter
Narina is our resident copywriter, which is rather ironic as she was born and raised in Singapore and use to include superfluous "u"s in a lot of words. Speaking the Queen's English and strong feelings about tea time aside, Narina and her trusty pink pen are our secret weapons against improper journalistic style, inconsistency and fragmented sentences. We also keep her around as she's the only person in the office who can spell hors d'oeuvres.
A graduate of California State University, Fullerton with a degree in journalism, Narina is an avid reader who also enjoys watching sports, especially hockey, fine dining and traveling the world with her husband, Mike.
Jeremy N. Green, Account Executive
Born in Mission Viejo, Calif., Jeremy has been a native Californian all his life. As a youth, he was your typical Orange County kid with a passion for both surfing and snowboarding. These days however, he often complains that his boards have become "more wall decorations and reminders of days of the past!" But with maturity comes great perks, as Jeremy is scheduled to marry his longtime love and best friend, Rachel, in January of 2010.
A graduate of California State University, Fullerton with a degree in marketing, Jeremy brings a highly motivated attitude and determined mindset to the DSYL team. Right off the bat, he fit right in with the company and soon started finishing his co-workers' sentences... even if what he finishes them with isn’t what they were going to say.
Ru Lin-Ridge, Partner, CFO
Ru is the oil that keeps DSYL running. She is our chief financial officer, director of sales, purchasing manager, controller – pretty much anything that involves the company's finances. We like to call her "The Ru" but with much better hair.
Before establishing DSYL with friend and business partner Desiree Stimson, Ru was controller for the Ad Agency Group. She is a graduate of California State Polytechnic, Pomona, with a bachelor's degree in business administration and a member of the Who's Who of American Women.
Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Ru moved to the U.S. when she was three. Growing up watching old movies with her sister to improve their English, she developed a superpower for remembering entertainment minutiae. Today, Ru is the person you want on your team in any television or film trivia game. When she isn't enjoying a movie, you'll find her camping or riding quad bikes out in the desert with her family.
Desiree Stimson, Partner, Creative Director
Born and raised in Fullerton, Calif., Dez has always had a penchant for art and design. From winning school art contests while growing up, to designing color palettes and storyboards for Nordstrom buyers, her creativity was simply waiting to be released. Although she graduated with a degree in advertising from California State University, Fullerton, it wasn't until seven years later that Dez finally decided to dive into her true passion of graphic design.
As a self-taught artist and graphic designer, Dez honed her craft while working at an automotive direct-mail ad agency. Once the company closed, she turned to her good friend Ru Lin and without reserve, asked her to partner-up and start their own agency. The rest is history...
Our "Networking Queen" is currently an active member in Business Networking International (BNI), the Yorba Linda Sunrise Rotary, Safari Club International and is on the Board of Directors for the Pudelpointer Club of North America and Skeeter Foundation.
Dez enjoys indie films and music of all types. And since she met her husband, Tom, she has been bitten by the travel bug and loves to get away whenever the opportunity permits. Her favorite destination is South Africa for the animals, culture and art, but not necessarily in that order.
Tina Ly, Graphic Designer
As the newest member of DSYL, Tina arrived as a fresh-faced, wide-eyed college graduate in search of new experiences. Having grown tired of the seemingly mindless world of retail bath products, she ventured into scary and uncharted territory known as "advertising" armed with the knowledge she learned in school. She soon realized, however, that school had taught her very little about the real world.
Raised in Huntington Beach, Calif., Tina always knew her passion was in art. Even in grade school, she preferred diorama projects over long division. So it was no surprise that she ended up following this love to pursue an education in graphic design. She received her BFA in graphic design in May 2009.
Apart from art, Tina loves to travel and enjoy life. You may very well see her in your part of town exploring the world with a camera in her hand. Lost perhaps, but one happy camper.
